Spend a weekend learning traditional northern forest skills while staying on-site in our modern, comfortable lodge.

The course content is drawn from our semester program. Topics include axemanship, safe and powerful knife use, fire skills, outdoor cooking, plant identification and uses, making simple and useful crafts, essential knots and more.

Group size is limited to 4 people. Included with the course is 2 nights of lodging (Friday and Saturday) in our lodge, the Rust Pond Retreat. Food is not included, but the lodge is outfitted with a full modern kitchen. Tuition is $250.

Arrival and Departure:   Plan to arrive Friday evening, between 6 and 9. The course is over on Sunday at 2 PM.

Tobacco:   Smoking is not permitted in or near any buildings. All cigarette butts are to be placed into the metal can provided.

Vehicles and Parking:  We’re located 1.2 miles down a dirt road. Depending on your vehicle you may need to park at the top of the hill, a 75 yard walk.

We reserve the right to include or omit any of the course topics listed due to class interest, availability of materials, inclement weather, or other factor that makes them impractical or unsafe.
